First established in 2003 and accredited in 2010, the Randolph-Tucker Children’s Advocacy Center plays a critical, front-line role in responding to child maltreatment by coordinating a collaborative approach to the investigation of sexual and severe physical abuse, while ensuring that children and their families receive immediate, effective support. RTCAC also provides community outreach and prevention education to adults and children in our service area.

RTCAC is a private, 501(c)3 non-profit organization serving Randolph and Tucker Counties in West Virginia. The primary office location is in downtown Elkins. RTCAC is a member of the West Virginia Child Advocacy Network and an accredited member program of the National Children’s Alliance.

About the position…

The Child Advocacy Center is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and detail-oriented Data Entry Clerk to support daily administrative operations. This position plays an important role in maintaining accurate records and handling sensitive information with the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, accuracy, and a commitment to supporting children and families served by the center.

The Data Entry Clerk position is part-time, reporting to the Executive Director. Work schedule can vary as to need, however is typically 2 days per week. Compensation will be based on candidate qualifications, prior experience, and the availability of funding.

Job responsibilities include…

  • Accurately enter and maintain client, case, and service data in secure databases and record systems
  • Review information for completeness, accuracy, and consistency
  • Handle confidential and sensitive information in compliance with privacy policies and agency procedures
  • Organize, scan, and file documents while maintaining secure recordkeeping practices
  • Assist staff with data retrieval, reporting, and administrative support as needed
  • Maintain professionalism and discretion when working with case-related materials
  • Support the mission and values of the Child Advocacy Center through respectful and ethical conduct

Qualifications…

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous data entry, clerical, or administrative experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and general computer systems
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive information
  • Experience working in nonprofit, healthcare, social services, or advocacy settings is a plus
